Are you really living, or waiting to die?

That might sound dramatic.

But the last few days have reminded me just how many people have quietly given up on being fully alive long before their heart stops beating.

I’ve spent some time back in disability spaces recently and if I’m honest, it’s affected me more than I expected.

Yes, life with a disability can be challenging.

Yes, pain is real.

Yes, difficult realities need to be acknowledged rather than glossed over.

But my goodness!

So many conversations seem completely rooted in what hurts, what’s unfair, what’s failing, what’s getting worse.

Aches.

Pain.

Limitations.

Symptoms.

Everything heavy.

Everything hopeless.

And I understand it. I really do.

I’ve lived in a body that felt like a prison before.

I’ve lived with chronic pain.

I’ve hated my body.

I’ve felt trapped inside it.

I’ve grieved it.

I’ve fought it.

I’ve been angry at it.

But eventually I realised something deeply confronting:

The way I was relating to my body was becoming another layer of suffering.

Every morning I was waking up already heavy.

Already defeated.

Already speaking to myself and my life like it was something to endure rather than enjoy.

And my body was responding in kind, creating a vicious cycle of misery.

Because whether people like hearing this or not, the relationship we have with our bodies, our minds, and our lives matters.

Just as much, if not more, than the relationships we have with others.

I am living proof of that.

I went from chronic pain dominating my life to becoming relatively pain free.

I went from believing my body had betrayed me to giving birth to four incredible children.

Nothing changed.

And everything changed.

The biggest shift wasn’t physical.

It wasn’t medical.

It wasn’t some miracle cure.

It was my relationship with myself.

I stopped speaking to my body like it was broken.

I stopped treating life like it was happening against me.

I stopped wearing suffering as my identity.

And instead, I started looking for reasons to be grateful that I was still here.

Air in my lungs.

A heartbeat in my chest.

People I love.

Work that matters.

Sunlight.

Laughter.

A warm coffee.

My children’s voices.

Their smiles.

Another morning to begin again.

Nobody can take those things from me.

The world right now feels obsessed with doom, fear, outrage, illness, catastrophe and helplessness.

And if you feed your mind that all day long, eventually your spirit starts shrinking to match it.

This is also why my coaching can feel confronting for some people.

Because I will not help you build an identity around your suffering.

I will sit with your pain.

I will acknowledge what’s hard.

But I will also challenge you to see where you’ve unconsciously started treating your limitations as your entire self.

Your life is bigger than the hardest thing about you.

Your body is listening to the way you speak to it.

Your nervous system is responding to the way you move through the world.

And if every day starts with:

“Life is exhausting.”

“I’m trapped.”

“Everything hurts.”

“Nothing works.”

Then eventually your reality begins hardening around that story.

But gratitude changes things.

Not toxic positivity.

Not pretending life is easy.

Real gratitude.

The kind that notices the smallest things.

I’m still here.

I’m still breathing.

I can still love.

I can still choose.

I can still experience beauty.

I can still participate in my own life.

That changes everything.

You do not have to deny pain to stop building your identity around it.

You do not have to pretend things are easy in order to choose joy, gratitude, responsibility and self-leadership anyway.

And maybe that’s the real work.

Not waiting for life to become perfect before you allow yourself to fully live it.

But deciding that while you are here, you are going to participate in your own life properly.

That you are going to stop negotiating with yourself.

That you are going to stop shrinking.

That you are going to stop speaking to yourself like someone already defeated.

Because your life deserves more than survival mode.

And so do you.

If this resonates deeply with you, Become Unshakeable was created for women exactly in this space.

Women who are exhausted from overthinking, self-doubt, shrinking themselves and waiting to finally feel “ready” to live fully.

This work is not about fixing you.

It’s about helping you build the kind of self-trust that changes how you move through your life, your relationships, your body and your decisions.

So you stop circling the same fears and finally start backing yourself properly.

If you’re ready for that, send me a message with the word UNSHAKEABLE and let’s talk.
